Around the world, millions of children suffer or die each year from treatable surgical conditions. Lack of access to trained pediatric surgeons means conditions that are routinely corrected in high‑income countries become life‑threatening elsewhere. Our program exists to change that reality by building permanent surgical capacity where it is needed most.
PartnerOne Global Surgery (POGS) is a pioneering philanthropic initiative dedicated to training pediatric surgeons from low- and middle-income countries at leading North American teaching hospitals, with the goal of strengthening surgical care for children in their home countries.
Pediatric surgeons are eligible to participate in 6 or 12-month training programs at leading hospitals in the US and Canada. Training is focused on the specific procedures that will have the greatest impact in each surgeon’s home country.
These fellowships deliver immediate, life‑saving benefits when surgeons return home.
Beyond treating patients directly, fellows train other physicians in their institutions, creating a powerful multiplier effect that dramatically expands access to advanced pediatric surgical care.

POGS avoids this risk by providing what is needed most in the developing world: medical & surgical knowledge.
